We are finally in Pamphlet 7 of 8 of the original 1922 Fascinating Womanhood pamphlets!

Fascinating Womanhood or The Art of Attracting Men

A practical course of lessons in the underlying principles by which women attract men - leading to the proposal and culminating in marriage.

 In eight parts

 Part Seven has two chapters: 

14: Undermining the Man's Reserve, and 

15. Arousing Worship, Adoration, and Love

Chapter 14 "Undermining the Man's Reserve" details the story that began in Pamphlet 1 of how Miss Innocent overcame Johnny's cautiousness, hesitancy, and wall of reserve, resulting in him letting down his guard and letting HER in to his heart (video 1 of 2).

The most important sentence in Undermining the Man's Reserve is "Meantime, there are two things you must do - the first is to keep him from backsliding, from retreating again into his shell of reserve; the second is to increase his assurance that he will always meet with sympathetic appreciation from you." 

We cover the following subheadings about Johnny and Miss Innocent:

  • Maintaining and Increasing the Suitor's Interest
  • Miss Innocent Takes the Right Step (His tiresome monologue causes her mind to wander, but in her case it wanders to the right things! What does she notice?)
  • How She Makes Johnny Feel ("Here is someone, he tells himself, who understands and appreciates him. He goes to rest in a glow of satisfaction and pride.")
  • Why Johnny Thinks Miss Innocent is Different from Other Girls ("They may be pretty, and even beautiful, but, so far as he is concerned, they are repulsively unwomanly." Why?)
  • A Week Later, and
  • A Serious Obstacle Arises
We will finish the story of Johnny and Miss Innocent in the next video.  And, of course, I threw in a couple of my own stories.

An Honest Review of The Clutter Connection

Last year I read a very interesting book by Cassandra Aarssen called The Clutter Connection, How Your Personality Type Determines Why You Organize the Way You Do. The first time I took her test was on her website, Clutterbug.me , I came out as a “Butterfly.”  But when I read her mini online book detailing the four different organizing styles that are based on your personality, I thought I was a Bee who coveted being a Cricket!  (See her website for a quick explanation of the four Clutter Bugs.) I bought this book since it goes into depth on the four areas, with color pictures, and I wanted to know more.  I was skeptical of her test and felt that the questions weren’t clear enough, so I took the test several times on different days, and again after reading each of the four sections of her book. Laine of Laine's Letters has passed into Glory

Our dear sister Laine Amavizca, who wrote Laine's Letters back in the 1990s and early 2000s, passed away November 5, 2024, after a long illness. Laine was a godly encouragement to homemakers in the days before blogs became popular.  She e-mailed her letters to a group of women, and more and more wanted to be added to her e-mail list. I personally found her in 2006 after she wrote the article, "Why I Love Homemaking," which was published in the Above Rubies magazine , a free magazine written by mothers to mothers. (Nancy Campbell, Editress) Whenever I woke up in the very early morning, such as at 4 a.m., I would always think, "Laine is up reading her Bible and conversing with God right now."
