BH Chapter 5: Crown Your Husband!

Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!  Today's video is all about your husband, the king, and you, his queen.

I wish I had remembered to put this part in the video... When I mentioned that even Martha Washington had trouble letting George be head of the household, especially over how the children were raised, she eventually wrote that she wished she would have let George discipline the children, and have a say in how she was raising them.  Instead, she froze him out, and it greatly grieved him.  She realized too late that he really did know how to best raise a boy.  Luckily, their relationship held strong, and her son (George's stepson) - John Parke Custis, "Jack" - after many mistakes, finally "made good."  Sadly though, he died of typhus at the tail end of the Revolutionary War, at age 26.

I think you'll enjoy this short chapter!  I know that for many of my videos I encourage you to be doing something around the house - dishes, folding laundry, etc. - but this one you might enjoy watching all of the pictures.

I always tell myself "just do the minimum amount of pictures - do a podcast" so that I can get videos out more quickly.  But once I get going I just can't help myself!  As I'm looking through my picture file I see more and more to use.

At some point in the future though, if I want to do longer books, I'm going to have to move to podcast style.  There are so many great books I want to read to you!  I'm just wondering if I'll have the voice to tackle them all.  Over time, I hope to.

I hope you institute a "family altar" at your house this week.  If you cannot do "Breakfast and the Bible" perhaps you can do one right after dinner. It needn't take long to begin with.  And do remember to read just a chapter (or more) of the Bible each day.

I am so enjoying the new app.WVBS.org (World Video Bible School).   The Home page has topical videos, and then at the top menu there is OT Studies and NT Studies.  So good!  I'm learning so much. We all need to be delving into great Bible studies; even when you think you know the story, you'll be amazed at what you have forgotten! :)

I hope you have a blessed week,

Janine

PS: I thought this was an incredible story and wanted to share it:
