BH4.3 Beautiful YOU - Why it's harder to lose weight today than in the 1960's
Hello, Beautiful Homemakers!
Before I read from Charlene Johnson's book about "Weight in the Wrong Places: Exercise," I tell you about my research from:
- chapters 1 and 2 of the book "The Dorito Effect" by Mark Schatzker,
- Dr. Livingood's incredibly helpful app Livingood Daily that has helped me more easily avoid ingredients in store-bought foods that cause us to gain weight, and
- I list at least a dozen benefits of walking - why it is so important to get outside and walk daily
- I cover autophagy, fake foods, snack foods, getting sunlight into your eyes, and much more!
- Did you know that almost all restaurants add fake flavoring to everything? Even raw meat at the grocery store often has flavoring added to it!
- If you are thinking about getting a rebounder, get one with bungee cords, not steel springs.
- Five to ten minutes of regular exercise every day is much more beneficial than one hour each week.
- But daily spiritual exercise is even more important than physical. Don't starve yourself spiritually!
The Livingood Daily app has a barcode scanner and an ingredient scanner! Since I've been using this scanner and avoiding bad ingredients, I no longer have that bloated feeling. I feel skinny. It's such a great feeling that it in turn helps me choose better foods. I like this scanner because it tells me WHY a food has been flagged.
I did make one mistake in my video, though - I said that I use unrefined virgin coconut oil in baking cakes to replace butter, but I meant that I use it to replace vegetable oil! It does not impart a "coconut flavor" to the cake.
May God bless you,
Janine
