BH4.2 Beautiful YOU! - Diet Advice from the 1960s

I also follow The Biblical Nutritionist, Annette Reeder on YouTube (Her website is TheBiblicalNutritionist.com).  Another thing I use is the LoseIt! app.  It makes it very simple to track my calories.

 

Here's the link to Sue Becker's video called Only Real Bread - The Staff of Life.  This video is long but worth it.  Listen while you work in the kitchen.  She also has hundreds of short interviews of people whose major medical problems were reversed once they began eating real, life-giving bread.  Her YT channel is: BreadBeckers and her website is BreadBeckers.com.

The question that started my research journey into real, life-giving bread was reading the Bible and wondering, "Why did Jesus compare Himself to bread if bread is so bad?"  Turns out that REAL bread isn't! It's packed full of nutrition!  Many vitamins, and even protein.  That's why people in jail were able to subsist on bread and water (but they would also need citrus to keep from getting scurvy).  

 

I also mention the book Toxic Superfoods - How Oxalate Overload is Making You Sick - and How to Get Better by Sally K. Norton.  Again, I was praying for wisdom for health problems and a video of someone interviewing Sally was recommended to me.  

I immediately bought her book and then thought, "Oh, Janine, you've done it again, searching for the magic pill to make your health problems go away, you've just wasted $20 [now only $12!]."  

But after reading it I made a few changes and it DID solve some MAJOR problems with me.  I had been waking up with severe aches and pains, esp in one hip, and I could barely get into my car.  I'd have to physically lift my left leg into the car.  I kept wondering how in the world I was going to make it to 86 if I felt this bad at 55! What was wrong with me?!  

I would wake up with "sleepy dust" but not the usual kind from dust and dander, but itty bitty rocks like crystals coming out of my tear ducts, and these little crystal rocks coming out of one ear.  I kept wondering "How do these rocks get in my ear at night!?!"  

My body was crystallizing the oxylates from spinach, almonds, and chia seeds, and was trying to expel these toxins out of my body by forcing them out of my eyes and ears!  It also contributed to my frail skin.  It was also causing my pain!  

One thing I learned is that no one should be eating spinach.  EVER!  Our daily MAXIMUM oxylate load should be lower than 250 mg (some say only 150 and if you are sick only 50 mg) and a 1-1/2 cup of raw spinach's oxylate load is 450 mg!!!  A measly half a cup of boiled spinach is also 450 mg!

24 Almonds are 120 mg, and 1/4 cup of chia seeds are 260 mg! I was eating all 3 several times a week.

 

Around the same time I also began taking Bob Barefoot's coral calcium supplement and I'm sure that also helped take away the pain.  The difference was almost instantaneous!  I had previously taken a less expensive brand and felt no difference.  But with Bob's I felt stronger the very next day!  [Remember to take K-2 with calcium to help calcium get into your bones!]  I had been taking the Bob's listed on Amazon here from EffiHealth  But I was recently informed that that may not really be from Bob Barefoot and that his website is CoralSupreme.com.  (You can get 10% off with code Take10.  I also highly recommend the books he has written about the importance of coral calcium, and why the coral from Okinawa, Japan is superior to other forms of calcium.)  Prices are a little higher on Amazon, because s/h is free, but here is the link to compare.  

I personally know a woman who swears by it - she takes it every day and she says that it cured her asthma and arthritis! She had been on asthma meds for 40 years, and arthritis meds for 20.  Within weeks she was off the asthma meds, and within six months no longer had arthritis.  

 

I mention the old book "Help Me, Lord!  The Devil Wants Me Fat!" by C.S. Lovett.  You might be able to find it cheaper on eBay or Thrift Books if you want to read it.  It was great at helping me change my mindset and realizing that I was being a glutton because I was still eating after I was full (aka cleaning my plate).  

He also opened up my eyes to the benefits of fasting.  The Bible tells us that fasting is good for us, but I'm afraid I have been a coward in this regard.  

However, intermittent fasting is good for us, too (not eating for a minimum of 12 hours each night - 14 to 16 hours is better).  My favorite book re IF is Fast. Feast. Repeat. by Gin Stephens.

  • Remember that hunger pangs only last 15 minutes!  
  • Drink water before you eat.  
  • Pause before you go back for seconds.  
  • Eat fruit instead of sugary foods.  
  • Eat at the table.  
  • Brush your teeth after each meal.
  • Walk after you eat, even if only for two minutes! 

Let me end by saying that our GOAL is HEALTH, not being "skinny."  I need to watch what I eat because I want to have full mobility and health as I age.  It's not just about how much I weigh.  In college I weighed 114 lbs and my goal is not to weigh that again.  That was my girlhood weight.  But now I'm a mature woman.  I want to lose about 20 more pounds so that I don't have a double chin, and so that I can easily bend over and tie my shoes.  That's my goal!

Even Twiggy, the super-thin model of the 1960's didn't remain a twig.  

And never forget how voluptuous Marilyn Monroe really was! She looked just as beautiful at 140 lbs as she did at 117.  

   


Remember, too, that the older you are, the more gaunt you will look if you don't have enough fat!  Focus on health, not weight.  Focus on being a wonderful wife, mother, and well-rounded, beautiful Christian woman!  

In the next video I am going to reveal my research into HOW and WHY everything Charlene says about how to eat and lose weight isn't as easy to do today as it was in the 1960s.  There really are many things working against us today, but I will divulge an easy to use, FREE tool to help us eat more healthy, and to help us avoid man-made foods that are the real culprits in making us fat and unhealthy.  Because willpower alone, contrary to what Charlene says, is no longer enough.

Be sure to read the Bible for yourself!

You can’t rely on your parents’ beliefs and what they taught you to do to be saved – you must go directly to the source and study for yourself!  Don’t get your information second hand.
