Looking for a Sign?

Do you know that a great many women say to God, “Just show me a sign that you want me to keep this baby.”  OR  “God, help me.  Just show me a sign of what you want me to do!”

On the way to my doctor’s office, I passed a home that had a sign that caught my eye.  It showed an ultrasound picture of a fetus with the word “ME” under it, and beside it was a picture of the born baby with the words “Still Me” under it, and “Choose Life!”  What a sign!

(By the way, fetus is the Latin word for baby or offspring, so yes, a fetus is a baby. )

What if every pro-life family had a sign like this in front of their house?

STOP:  What have you done today to help protect the unborn?

That was the message that greeted me when I opened my mailbox upon coming home from the doctor’s office.  It was on the envelope of a pregnancy center we help support.

Inside the envelope was a beautiful picture of a tiny baby and a Thomas Jefferson quote:  The chief purpose of government is to protect life.  Abandon that and you have abandoned all.

I got online and searched until I found the pro-life sign.  I e-mailed it to my husband and he thought it powerful as well.  You can find it here: Heritage House ’76

It is an easy way to speak up for the unborn every day.

I also ordered 100 pens with the size and shape of a ten-week old unborn baby’s footprints printed on them.  I’m going to put all 100 Precious Feet pens in my purse and leave them wherever I go.  More signs.

I bought a ruler with the stages of the unborn baby’s life for only $1.
I bought the gilt footprints pin to wear.
I have the magnet that reminds me to Pray to end abortion daily.

I bought the A Baby is a Person No Matter How Small bookmark – it is an incredible picture of a 6 week old fetus of an ectopic pregnancy in an amnionic sac.  You’ve got to see this picture!  I taped the bookmark inside the back window of my car, and I’ve seen people looking at it.

We as Christ followers need to speak out, and leave signs wherever we go!

Here are some of the pro-life organizations we support on a rotating basis:
A baby’s heartbeat can be detected and heard as early as 5 weeks. (1)

Babies in the womb can feel pain at 20 weeks, and the presence of a baby’s pain sensory mechanisms and nervous system as early as 6 weeks. (2)

An increasing number of babies are being born prematurely (3) and survive! Some as early as 24 weeks – an age where abortion is still permitted in many states.

(1) Perinatology.com – Fetal Development; (2) “Fact Sheet: Science of Fetal Pain” Charlotte Lozier Institute, Dec. 17, 2018; (3) Centers for Disease Control, Premature Birth

Please help women, men, and children know the truth about a baby’s development by putting up yard signs and giving bookmarks, pens, pencils, and other gifts that declare an unborn baby’s life is just as valuable as everyone else’s. (I am not affiliated with Heritage House.)

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Psalm 139:13 (New Living Translation)

And if you haven’t yet seen the movie unPLANNED – you need to as soon as it is released on DVD.  It is a must-see movie.

Abby Johnson, whom the movie is about, later went on to found And Then There Were None (ATTWN), an organization that helps abortion clinic workers leave the abortion industry, like she did.

  1. Janine, I have such a hard time understanding our society today, who feel that a woman's right to choose is more important than the rights of an unborn child.
Recently, there was a small pro-life group who had assembled near our local hospital (across the road, and some distance away)..
The outcry from the community was unbelievable. You would have thought they were dealing with terrorists!
I applaud your efforts in support of our unborn.

    Blessing,
    Christine

    1. That is shocking, Christine. So sad. I just don't understand why people think it is okay to tear a baby limb from limb. I'm glad you see the truth and the light!

  2. This is wonderful! I love that you are writing about this. We do need a lot of signs and reminders to protect babies. Thank you!
